Rome is considered one of the most romantic cities in the world because of the magical atmosphere that you can feel when walking through its streets where you can admire unique monuments that witness a thousand-year history. However, there are some places that, thanks to their particular position, offer breathtaking views of the city and which are absolutely not to be missed.
- Giardino degli Aranci, Piazza Pietro D’Illiria, Roma, RM + Il Buco Della Serratura, Piazza dei Cavalieri di Malta, 3
Wonderful little park full of greenery, where you can relax. There is one thing which is mandatory for any visitor in the city: the view from the keyhole at the entrance door through which you can perfectly see St Peter’s dome. Once you reach the end of the park, you can enjoy the spectacular view of the Eternal City.
- Fontana dell’Acqua Paola, Via Garibaldi + Chiesa san Pietro in Montorio, Piazza di San Pietro in Montorio 2
The fountain, as well as admirable for the precious marbles and the splendid view of part of Rome that can be enjoyed from the belvedere, is an oasis of silence and peace, being in an area with very limited car traffic. Just few metres away you can also visit the beautiful Church “San Pietro in Montorio”. A Church full of charm and full of masterpieces by great artists: a real museum in a Church. Do not miss the central nave and the Tempietto del Bramante.
- Terrazza del Pincio, Salita del Pincio + Laghetto di Villa Borghese, Viale dell’Aranciera
Wonderful panoramic terrace on Rome, annexed to Villa Borghese, overlooking Piazza del Popolo. Home to historical evidence, from busts to the water clock, from the monument to the Cairoli brothers to the Valadier house. It is also home to historical events such as battles of the Garibaldi soldiers and barbarian invasions. Taking advantage of the right light, you can take beautiful photographs of Rome from here.
- Cannone del Gianicolo, Piazzale Garibaldi
“Cannone del Gianicolo” is located in Piazzale Garibaldi, one of the most beautiful and panoramic squares in Rome. Every day at noon a cannon fires a blank shot from there: an ancient tradition that deserves to be seen.
- Zodiaco, Viale del Parco Mellini, 88/92
The Zodiac with its 139 meters above sea level offers a 360 degree view of Rome. It is possible to enter the park (Monte Mario Natural Reserve) and walk for about 350 meters to see a little balcony that offers a breathtaking view, with some benches to rest. Morover is possible to walk the entire paved road until the end and reach a wonderful terrace where you can enjoy an aperitif, coffee or simply the view. The place is not easily accessible but very suggestive.
